Party Rockers in The Office Tonight

The year of 2016 was not enough for just one raunchy Christmas comedy, first was Bad Santa 2, now we have Office Christmas Party. With quite a good cast. Jason Bateman, Jennifer Aniston, and T.J. Miller to name a few. It does not go overboard with raunchiness, it knows when not to stretch it self too far. The setting here also really sells the film perfectly.T.J. Miller is pretty funny has the party animal, next to Jason Bateman who play Millers best friend who is quite an amusing straight man, plays off of Millers zaniness perfectly. Jennifer Aniston is also good has Millers boss and mean spirited sister. Kate Mckinnon and Rob Corddry also provide some laughs, and lets not forget Courtney B. Vance and Olivia Munn. A pretty funny holiday film for adults, never tries to more than what it is.

Doesn't take itself too seriously

Party of the year

As a film student, I'm always judging every possible thing in order to determine whether it's good quality or not. With a film like this, it's impossible to do so. This film is something that you can't take too seriously as a piece of a cinema. A light- hearted, sex and drug-infused Christmas comedy isn't exactly too focused on interesting cinematography. What it IS focused on is good comedy. And, for me, it hit the nail on the head. The comedic actors in this movie were at their finest. Fresh off her Emmy win and launch into super-mainstream popularity, Kate McKinnon delivers a hilarious performance as by-the-books HR worker, Mary, who embodies a Luna Lovegood-esque airiness about her and a layer of mystery that makes you wish she was the central character. This just proves that Kate McKinnon might just be the next Fey/Poehler to come from SNL into Hollywood movies. Jennifer Aniston is also solid, playing the ruthless, sassy CEO, Carol. Aniston's one mission for the past 12 years has been to prove that she's not just Rachel Green and she's done it several times successfully and this is one of them. Her comedic timing has greatly improved and she delivers her insults so coldly that I had to put a jacket on. Bateman and Munn are a good on screen duo and the insertion of TJ Miller into their dynamic is one that works well for the movie. Above all, though, this movie is one big cliché and by the end you don't even care that you've probably seen 9 different attempts at the same movie. I recommend watching if you've got some time on your hands and want to be entertained. Also for Kate McKinnon's dancing. That too.

Jennifer Aniston's comment

I thought the movie was funny and entertaining until Jennifer Aniston said FU to the little girl at the airport. It was unfunny, shocking, and abusive to a minor person, even for a movie. It displayed lack of respect for minor children and shows what a degenerate society this has become. An accomplished actor doing a scene like that with a child??? I have always liked Jennifer Aniston and now I would never intentionally see another one of her movies. I wonder if Jennifer Aniston would have allowed her own child if she had one to be part of such a scene. I would not.. I am shocked the writers and producers allowed that scene, and shocked that the parents of the child allowed the child to star in that scene. That scene ruined the rest of the movie for me; I couldn't bear to see the rest. Very expensive movie.
